We hope you’ve been setting aside some cash since our first announcement about 2nd Street’s debut in Singapore. Japan’s largest secondhand thrift chain officially opens in Singapore on April 29, 2025 at 313@somerset, bringing in over 23,000 curated pieces directly from Japan. We had a first look ahead of the launch – here’s what to expect.

Marking its first outlet in Singapore, the store takes up two adjoining units, offering plenty to browse. Expect a wide selection of pre-loved apparel and accessories – from tops and bottoms to bags, shoes, sunglasses and watches.

You won’t have to dig through bins and bins of clothes here. The space is neatly divided into two main sections: womenswear on the left and menswear on the right. Within these zones, items are further arranged on shelves and hangers by category, including bags, accessories, and clothing, which are grouped by style such as casual wear, sportswear, and formal pieces.

As expected, the more affordable items come from lesser-known labels, while slightly higher prices apply to recognisable brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, The North Face, A Bathing Ape, New Balance, Converse and Acne Studios. That being said, prices remain accessible – we spotted a pair of Levi’s jeans in good condition going for just $15.

Shoppers can also pick up secondhand luxury pieces from the likes of Chanel, Hermès, Dior, Gucci and Celine. These are also reasonably priced – we found a Coach bag for $35 and a Yves Saint Laurent watch for $90. Some luxury items even come with their original packaging, which will be indicated on the tag.

The inventory is updated daily, keeping the shelves well-stocked and the selection fresh.

It’s not just about spending – you can also make a little money here. Customers are welcome to sell their pre-loved items in-store. No appointment is required; Simply bring your pieces down and the staff will assess the condition of the items and offer a same-day quote. It’s a straightforward way of giving  your wardrobe a refresh and your old favourites a new lease of life.

2nd Street is located at 313 Orchard Road, 313@somerset, #B1-23 to 24, Singapore 238895 and opens daily from 11am to 10pm. More details can be found here
