The F1 Singapore Grand Prix is finally happening this weekend, from September 30 to October 2. But with such massive excitement comes big crowds – made all the more difficult to navigate since there will be multiple road closures around the Marina Bay and city areas.
Only authorised vehicles, including the police and emergency vehicles, will have access to these areas. Our word of advice? You’ll be better off taking public transport, especially since MRT and some bus services will be extended from today to October 2.
Keep in mind though that several bus routes will still be diverted to these road closures. There’ll be expected crowds in MRT stations like Bayfront, City Hall, Esplanade, Promenade and Raffles Place too, so you might be better off heading to nearby stations like Clarke Quay, Marina Bay, and Nicoll Highway.
If you’ve booked a Grab or private hire car, it’ll also be best for you to head down to these pick-up and drop-off locations instead (the full list here).
For those driving though, expect traffic delays in areas like Beach Road, Bras Basah Road, Robinson Road, Rochor Road, and many more. And if you're planning to go towards Suntec City, it’ll be best to go down Rochor Road to Temasek Boulevard. You can find more information on LTA’s website.
