Korea’s largest fried chicken and craft beer chain, Daily Beer, opened their first outlet in Singapore just a few months ago to much fanfare, with the joint at Telok Ayer often seeing a full house during dinner hours, even on weekdays. And it looks like the crowds now have a new Korean dining spot to flock over to, because the brand has just launched their sister concept, Daily Chicken.

You’re probably wondering what the big difference between the two might be, so here’s a quick lowdown: Daily Beer specialises in the classic chimaek experience – that is, the pairing of fried chicken and craft beer. Daily Chicken, on the other hand, is a more casual family-friendly concept focusing on Korean street food favourites, from noodles to stews and snacks.

Slurp on wallet-friendly noodle options ($8) such as the Daily cold bibimmyeon and the fiery Daily spicy onmyeon. You’d also want to try the Daily chicken gangjeong ($25), where boneless fried chicken is tossed in a sweet-savoury sauce together with tteokbokki and your choice of crispy potato wedges, sweet potatoes, or mandu.

Other quintessential comfort dishes here include the premium fish cake soup ($26) served with fried shrimp skewers and boiled eggs; Daily fried tofu gimbap ($14) with a heaping of stir-fried kimchi; and the Daily budae tteokbokki ($28) which is basically Korean army stew with noodles, rice cakes, and assorted sausages – perfect for sharing.

Make sure you save some stomach space for Daily Chicken’s street snacks, namely the chewy doughnuts ($9 for 3 pieces) filled with sweet red bean, the crispy cheese balls ($7 for 3 pieces) filled with mozzarella, and hotteok ($12 to $14).

It’s pretty rare to find freshly made hotteok in Singapore, so fans of the chewy Korean pancake would be delighted to know that Daily Chicken has not one, but four versions for you to choose from: crispy pastry honey hotteok; the sweet-savoury crispy pastry corn cheese hotteok; kaya cream hotteok; and kaya butter hotteok which brings a unique Korean twist to the traditional kaya toast.

All that said, Daily Chicken doesn’t get its moniker for nothing; Here, you’ll also be able to indulge in its signature fried chicken, with a recipe that’s slightly tweaked from Daily Beer’s. Pick from four flavours: original, red (spicy), black (sweet garlic soy), and the Corn Flakes-coated crunch (sweet-spicy garlic). Prices start from $17 for half a chicken, $32 for a whole chicken, and $26 for 600 grammes of wings.

Wash the hearty feast down with Daily Chicken’s iconic K-ginseng lager ($13), or non-alcoholic Korean beverages like the refreshing berry-based omija ade ($4) or tangy green plum ade ($4).

Daily Chicken's opening promotion

From now till August 23, 2024, Daily Chicken is offering a limited-time deal where you'll get to enjoy the signature Daily gangjeong chicken at $18 instead of $25. Time to gather your pals and plan a post-work outing, stat.

Daily Chicken is now open at Bugis Junction (B1-06) from 11am to 10pm daily, and also offers the option for takeaways. Find out more via Daily Chicken’s website and Instagram page.
