Singapore’s nightlife scene is one to beat. We’re home to some of the best nightclubs – where you can ring in the new year with a bang – and some of these just recently made it on the World’s 100 Best Clubs of 2024 list.
Adding to the vibrant scene this December, a new lifestyle destination is making its debut. COTU, which stands for Centre Of The Universe, is a sprawling 18,000-square-foot space standing on the 38th and 39th floor of CapitaGreen. The highlight of the venue is that it houses not just one or two, but five distinct concepts, including a Japanese steakhouse, a live jazz lounge, a sky pool and more.
Start the evening at Little Birdie, a cocktail bar intended to welcome guests into the space. In the food department, there’s Enso, COTU’s Japanese steakhouse led by Chef Alex Craciun, complete with a dry-ageing room. Guests are then led into The Whisper Room for more drinks and live DJ sets. The bar also doubles up as a live jazz lounge during its sunset happy hours from 5.30pm, inspired by New York’s iconic jazz clubs.
As the night deepens, COTU’s Dashi Go-Go Ultra Lounge is the place to be for hip-hop and R&B beats in a retro setting flanked by Neo-Tokyo aesthetics.
And here’s the cherry on top: the Dashi Sky Pool, the city’s first open-air sky pool in an entertainment venue. Unwind in a cabana under the stars or attend a floating film festival – a novel experience yet to be offered elsewhere in Singapore. COTU’s sky-high location means you’re also getting million-dollar city views no matter which venue you’re partying at.
This new destination sets out to be a jaw-dropper, and leading that vision is a team of hospitality and dining experts who’ve had a part to play in successful concepts like Employees Only, Pasta Bar, Zoul, the F1 Amber Lounge, Attica, and many more.
Find out more about COTU here.
COTU is located on Levels 38 and 39 of CapitaGreen at 138 Market Street.
