Singaporeans were left surprised when a certain unexpected pick made it to the recent world’s best fine dining restaurants list for 2023 – but whether you agree with the result or otherwise, it doesn’t change the fact that this Little Red Dot is indeed a city for foodies who can appreciate the finer things in life. In any case, La Liste – a French ranking guide for restaurants – has already released their global Top 1000 Restaurants list for 2024, and 12 establishments from Singapore have made the cut as some of the best in the world.
La Liste’s ranking method scores thousands of restaurants based on a variety of criteria, and involves chefs’ opinions along with reviews from guidebooks, publications, and casual user-generated online reviews. The final La Liste scores are then tallied up by percentage, with 100 being the highest.
Coming in tops for Singapore is Odette, which is unsurprising given that it won the title of Best Restaurant in Asia at the World's 50 Best 2023 Awards Ceremony earlier this year. Odette scores a commendable 98.50, tying at the third place with 25 other restaurants in the world. Out of our list of 12, Singapore’s scores range from this number to 75.50, a score awarded to Japanese restaurant Shoukouwa.
