Legendary Japanese musician Kitaro is coming out of a seven-year hiatus to perform in Singapore for a two-day-only concert. Slated for June 25 and 26, the concerts are part of his The Best of Kitaro World Tour, which will see him stop by Malaysia and Taiwan too.

Kitaro is world-renowned for his masterful blend of classical, jazz, rock, and world music genres. His lush and immersive works formed the soundtrack to the Japanese documentary Silk Road: The Rise and Fall of Civilisations, captivating music lovers around the world. He earned his first Grammy nomination in 1987 for "The Field" from The Light of the Spirit album, which featured numerous collaborations with American artists. Kitaro would go on to produce rock and pop-influenced works, a Golden Globe Best Original Score (1994) for the Oliver Stone Film "Heaven & Earth", and the Grammy award-winning song "Thinking of You" (2001). The prolific artist followed up with Broadway pieces, a score for a Zhang Yimou-directed opera, and even a collaborative film with NASA and Kyoto University featuring his other-worldly music.

Fans are in for a special treat on the upcoming world tour. Kitaro is digging deep into his archives to play works he's never performed live. These deep cuts will complement a retinue of his iconic songs and fan favourites, so look forward to tracks like "Matsuri", "Caravansary", "Heaven and Earth", and more. Tickets for the Singapore show at Sands Theatre are now on sale, starting from $128 for E Reserve seats and going up to $388 for VIP seats with a meet-and-greet. Purchase your tickets here.
