Tech geeks and Apple fans, here's something to look forward to: the tech giant is set to open its third store in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands. No specified date has been shared yet, but you can expect the store to be open to the public 'soon'. The futuristic-looking store is set to be its most iconic one yet as it sits on the water overlooking Singapore's iconic city skyline. Apple has also launched a website for the MBS outlet – with not much information on it as yet.
When retail shops and restaurants are announcing permanent closures, the announcement to open a new store in these times is a bold one. The first Apple store in Singapore – and also Southeast Asia – opened at the Orchard Road Knightsbridge mall in 2017 while the outlet in Jewel Changi Airport opened the following year in July.
The dome-shaped space was formerly occupied by nightlife concept Avalon from 2011 to 2016. It was constructed as a two-storey space spanning 17,000 square feet. Apple has yet to reveal what they intend to do with the space but looking at how beautiful the other two outlets are, you can definitely expect something aesthetically pleasing.
