If you're thinking of upgrading some of your devices – mainly earphones and laptops – Apple's new launches might be something you would want to check out. Besides unveiling the improved range of AirPods and MacBook Pro, Apple also announced a new product – the HomePod Mini.

New AirPods sweat and water-resistant

Fans of AirPods would be looking for an upgrade with the latest generation which features improved sound through Adaptive EQ, spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, and of course, seamless interaction between Apple devices. The new AirPods are also resistant to sweat and water making it ideal for sports, and feature a force sensor for easy and intuitive control of music and phone calls. The extended battery life enables up to six hours of listening time and up to 30 hours of total listening time with the convenient charging case. The third generation of AirPods join the world’s most popular family of headphones and are available to order soon for $269.

The MacBook Pro will also see an upgrade – Apple unveiled the completely reimagined MacBook Pro available in 14- and 16-inch models. The new MacBook Pro will be powered by the groundbreaking M1 Pro and M1 Max – the first pro chips designed for the Mac. Besides amazing battery life, users get to enjoy a stunning Liquid Retina XDR display and the best audio system. The new MacBook Pro is made to take full advantage of the new pro chips and the user experience is said to be unrivalled. It's no wonder Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing has declared "the new MacBook Pro simply has no equal and is by far the best pro notebook we’ve ever built.” The 14-inch MacBook Pro retails at $2,999, and the 16-inch at $3,749

Introducing: the new HomePod Mini

It's been a while since we've seen a new product and at this conference, Apple also introduced the compact and colourful HomePod Mini. Coming in three bold colours – blue, orange and blue – and colour-matched details throughout (including the mesh fabric, volume icons and woven power cable), you can pick the pod which fits your personality or space the most. The HomePod Mini stands less than ten centimetres but offers a great music-listening experience, the services of Siri, smart home capabilities with built-in privacy and security. Unfortunately, there is no news on whether the HomePod Mini will be available in the Singapore market anytime soon.

With Christmas season looming, which device would you love to see under the tree?
