If you love all things enchanting and whimsical, then mark your calendars for August 24. For one night only, Alice Cheongdam, the celebrated Korean bar inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, will be making a rare appearance outside its Seoul location at none other than Singapore’s Writers Bar. Guests can look forward to a line-up of theatrical cocktails served in the charming and sophisticated setting of Raffles Hotel.

Known for its fantastical ambience and imaginative tipples, Alice has been a fixture on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list since 2016. The Seoul speakeasy is located behind a nondescript flight of stairs and past a secret door in a flower shop. But if you haven’t secured tickets to Korea, this event offers a special chance to get a taste of Alice’s famed drinks.

From 5pm to 8pm, watch Terry Kim, Eggsy Seong, and Pablo Han demonstrate their creative flair through molecular mixology techniques as they shake up six legendary signature cocktails from the bar’s existing menu. One concoction to look forward to is ‘The Hippity Hoppity’, a crowd-favourite blend of elderflower, vodka, and aloe vera presented in a rabbit-shaped tiki mug. There will also be a line-up of unusual bar snacks which remain unspecified, so get ready for an evening of surprises.

And what better place to match the charm of the beloved ‘Alice in Wonderland’ fable than a literary-themed bar? Writers Bar at Raffles Hotel was established as a homage to the literary greats who have graced the hotel over the century, including Rudyard Kipling, Joseph Conrad, and many others. Decked out in luxurious furnishings and adorned with mementoes and books, the alluring space is the perfect backdrop for the wonderland-themed event.
