Back in April 2019, fast food fans were thrilled by the return of A&W at Jewel Changi Airport. Since then, the beloved fast food chain has steadily expanded across Singapore, including its outlet at Ang Mo Kio Hub. But for Northies who’ve been getting their A&W fix there, here’s some disappointing news – the outlet officially ceased operations this April.
Previously one of the largest A&W outlets in Singapore, the Ang Mo Kio branch could seat up to 140 diners. Despite its spacious layout, it regularly saw long queues, thanks to its well-loved menu. Signature items included the golden aroma chicken, A&W cream cheese beef burger, curly fries, and, of course, the classic root beer float.
Eagle-eyed shoppers spotted a sign at the store stating the outlet’s closure on April 20, 2025.
While the closure of the AMK Hub outlet may come as a blow, there are still other outlets peppered around Singapore to satisfy your A&W cravings. According to the A&W website, these are the remaining outlets available:
- Admiralty Place
- Anchorvale Village
- Canberra Plaza
- Northshore Plaza
- The Woodleigh Mall
- Jurong Point
- Jewel Changi Airport
- Mandai Wildlife West
Additionally, fast food lovers can also look forward to the highly anticipated arrivals of South Korea’s Lotteria and America's Chick-fil-A later this year. All things considered, not a bad trade-off.
