In case you missed it, Time Out announced the results of our City Life Index and Singapore didn't fare too well. In a survey of 15,000 people, it was revealed that Singapore comes in at 31 on a list of 32 cities vying for the title of the world's most exciting city.

But we think the city deserves a spot higher up in the ranks. And we can prove it. Here are seven exciting things that have happened in the city this year – and it's not even February yet.

1. When it was winter for a week

Temperatures plunged to 21.7 degrees earlier this month, proving that when Singapore can be cool too.

2. When we chased waterfalls

Who needs Niagara Falls anyway?

3. Instead of sticking to the rivers and the lakes that we're used to

Someone even created a Facebook event to go kayaking in the east. We make the best of what we've got.

4. When we landed the world's first suspended playground

Airzone opened at City Square Mall in January much to the delight of the young and the young at heart.

5. Everything about the Light to Night Festival

Now how can we be the "worst rated city" for culture when cool things like this happen on the regular?

6. When we danced to Anderson Paak

I think we can all agree that Anderson Paak was LIT at St Jerome's Laneway Festival despite the initial technical error.

7. And this just happened earlier today

Strong winds? Paranormal activity? Either way, pretty exciting times to be living in sunny Singapore.
