50 Michelin Bib Gourmand winners announced

Food connoisseurs, brace yourself. The Michelin Guide Singapore 2018 has finally announced its list of 50 Bib Gourmand winners including 17 first-time recipients.

While it's not exactly a Michelin star, the Bib Gourmand award – distinguished by the image of the Bibendum smacking his lips – rewards hawker stalls and restaurants offering a delectable yet affordable menu. For Singapore, the dishes in contention for the award are capped at a maximum of $45.

Joining the big guns like Maxwell Food Centre's Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice and Amoy Street Food Centre's A Noodle Story are long-time favourites like Eminent Frog Porridge & Seafood – famed for its signature bowl of porridge served with tingly stir-fried chili frog legs – and Muthu's Curry, a mainstay that offers Indian dishes to fire up your taste buds. The highly raved The Coconut Club also snapped up an award for its satisfying plates of nasi lemak.
