Songs of the Ryukyu Islands

The quartet Unaigumi bring to town Okinawan folk music, performed on the sanshin (three-stringed lute). This gig features a mash of traditional Okinawan tunes and shima uta (new folk) music, the latter of which spreads messages of hope and peace.
