Bid farewell to the lively Cuban outfit as they make a pit stop here as part of their Adiós Tour. What started out as an ensemble in the ’90s – their name pays tribute to the musical spirit of the Havana club in the ’40s – soon became hailed as a success on the international stage after they dropped their first (and only) album. That, in turn, inspired an Oscar-nominated documentary on the musicians, and a revival of interest in traditional Latin American music. It’s gonna be emotional and it’s gonna be nostalgic, but most of all, it’s gonna be one heckuva party to remember. Part of Sing Jazz 2016.
