Time Out says

A neo soul quartet from Melbourne, Hiatus Kaiyote is best known for their single ‘Nakamarra’, a collab with rapper and producer Q-Tip that received a Grammy nom for Best R&B Performance in 2013 – a first for an Aussie act. And that was just two years after they got together. But it was last year’s Choose Your Weapon that really made audiences perk up and listen. With 18 tracks spread out over 70 minutes, the album was recorded as though it were a mixtape, with rousing interludes in between songs that veer from modern jazz to samba to ’70s funk and soul. They’ll get you up and swaying in no time. Part of Sing Jazz 2016.
