Even if concerts are cancelled and music venues are temporarily closed, there's no shortage of reason to champion Singaporean artists and celebrate the music scene here. And what a better time to do so than now? The national movement that has paved the way for many local musicians, Hear65, is putting together a month-long digital karaoke concert series: Hear65 Sing Along SG. Featuring 16 local artists, the series is slated to broadcast across four Saturdays from May 23 to June 13 via YouTube, Twitch, Twitter and Facebook.
Hosted by actress Munah Bagharib, the digital event kicks off with performances by power-packed quartet The Pinholes, popstar Rriley, R&B darling Tabitha, and rapper TheLionCityBoy, followed by Charlie Lim, HubbaBubbas, Iman's League, Jeremy Monteiro, Joanna Dong, M1ldLife, OhMyMeiting, Goose, MiCapella, Sam Rui, Sezairi, Shak'thiya, and Sobs. Expect a line-up that spans genres and languages, all in celebration of homegrown music. Plus, you can support your favourite artists with a donation via the Twitch live stream too.
Besides reimagining a digital concert experience for music lovers as part of the #SGCultureAnywhere campaign, Hear65 Sing Along SG also provides work opportunities for over 90 self-employed practitioners from the arts community, all in the name of supporting the Arts scene here. And you can do your bit at the comfort of your sweet digs by tuning in every Saturday night on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter and Facebook. By all means, join in and sing along.
