Since her masterful breakthrough third album, The Reminder, Feist has established herself as something of an anomaly. Clearly not interested in succumbing to the pop-leanings of her mainstream success tracks for a quick buck, these have instead served as dressing on a more thoughtful artist who has played the long-game – positioning herself as a genius of soothing melancholy, salt-of-the-earth soulfulness and appropriately integrated rock ‘n’ roll.
