School's out, but the learning journey continues. Let your Little Einsteins take a digital dive into Singapore's heritage through the National Heritage Board's (NHB) online Heritage Explorers Programme. The immersive programme invites tykes and teens to try the grown-up world for size, and get rewarded with Heritage Badges for their effort. You can join in the fun too where both you and your kid explore Singapore's history and heritage in an edutaining way beyond the classrooms and textbooks.
Let your little one take on the role of a curator or a designer, and try their hand at tasks such as creating engaging captions for objects found at home or sketching their dream exhibition. To get started, simply check out the videos of the Heritage Explorers Programme at the Facebook pages of the Malay Heritage Centre, the Indian Heritage Centre, and the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. Follow the instructions, choose the profession, and complete all the tasks at home. When the museums are reopened, submit the finished product to nhb_educationprogrammes@nhb.gov.sg or bring it to the respective museums to redeem the Heritage Explorers badge which comes with bragging rights for the kids.
Through this NHB programme, children can learn to love and appreciate our city's heritage in a fun, enjoyable and relevant way. Find out more about the Heritage Explorers Programme here.
