The Girls in Tech program originated in the United States and aims to educate people about the gender gap in technology while instilling excitement and passion about coding in girls. The popular program now comes to Singapore, with a three-day workshop teaching participants how to develop an Android mobile application. Tailored for girls aged eight to 14, the AppJamming program will not only teach coding, it will also discuss the corporate structure and workings of PayPal and will give girls the chance to meet leading women in the sphere of technology. Admission is free, but email registration for the workshop is required.
