Located in Singapore, 1.6 km from Singapore City Gallery, Hmlet Cantonment is the latest co-living space in town. Building on the heritage site from the 1950s, Hmlet has fully restored a former school into a modern and stylish space. The building’s retro elements such as the original staircase with terrazzo handrails and feature walls are kept to retain its heritage. Hmlet is also building on its commitment to sustainable living with a portion of its furniture being Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified.
There are 150 individual rooms with private bathrooms and members can choose from four different types of rooms: small, medium, large and extra large. It operates within a zone approved by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) for short-term stays so a minimum stay at Hmlet would be for at least six nights.
The co-living facility provides other perks like the common canteen, yoga and fitness studio private parking, an outdoor garden lounge and also a plunge pool. On top of that, there will be many community events led by the Hmlet team or even the members themselves. Popular points of interest near the accommodation include Maxwell Road Food Centre and the hip neighbourhoods of Keong Saik and Ann Siang Hill.
