Sham Hair Salon

Gritty-cool Dunlop Street has a few Indian-run trim rooms in operation, but nothing quite draws your attention as successfully as the narrow Sham’s, with its LED-lit door and promise of a $5 haircut. The cuts are now $6 (the $5 sign still stands, but gets a tiny ‘from’ scrawled before the price). This tiny two-seat room is filled with disco lights, a fake illuminated aquarium and pulsating dance sequences blaring from a flatscreen beaming Kollywood films.
