What began as a trickle of fresh talent into Singapore’s film scene nine years ago has grown into an unstoppable wave of creativity. This year, the National Youth Film Awards (NYFA) rebrands itself as the Singapore Youth Film Festival (SYFF), championing homegrown cinema and putting the next generation of storytellers on the global map.
From October 31 to November 8, immerse yourself in the live-action, documentary, and animated short films, hosted at Golden Village x The Projector Cineleisure. Going beyond the mainstream, these films don't just break the mold – they shatter it. Grab your popcorn for the screenings of SYFF award nominees including Eyes Forward, Cloudy, Birthmarks, and Sonder.
Beyond the screenings, the SYFF Award Ceremony at *SCAPE The Ground Theatre will continue its tradition on November 13 by presenting 20 awards across Student and Open Youth categories, with 56 films competing for titles like Best Director, Screenplay, and Original Music. You can also catch the live stream of the ceremony via *SCAPE’s social media channels at 3pm.
Want to get some insider scoop? Mark your calendar for the SYFF Conference on November 9 and 10, where industry pros share their experiences and insights on the latest challenges and opportunities within the scene.
