Mental health awareness takes centre stage this month, so mark your calendar for the return of Singapore Mental Health Film Festival (SMHFF). This year's film affair comes in a hybrid edition where the screening of nine feature films and nine short films, as well as nine panel concersations and eight workshops are held on-site at National Gallery Singapore and online via watch.smhff.com. These programmes touch on topics ranging from dementia to suicide prevention, and continues with much-needed conversations around the impact of the pandemic on our mental health.
Grab a seat for films like acclaimed film Sorry We Missed You, inspirational classroom flick Freedom Writers, and biographical drama Beautiful Boy which stars Hollywood big names Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carell. Other highlights include Mindfulness x Eating, a food appreciation workshop which sees participants practising mindful eating over plant-based desserts from Afterglow, and Connection and Catharsis, a journaling workshop where participants use fun and expressive writing as a self-care tool.
