There's nothing quite like watching a movie under the stars – or in this case, amidst beautiful greenery and the towering Super Trees. The picturesque Gardens by the Bay plays host to the fourth edition of Moonlight Cinema, which is returning over two days in August.
This iteration marks the first-ever edition of Moonlight Cinema organised outside of the Festival period. Catch a slate of notable Singapore films by directors Royston Tan, Tan Pin Pin and Ng Xi Jie. The programme celebrates storytelling through film, and is part of SGIFF’s efforts to foster deeper film appreciation in Singapore.
Don't miss musical drama 3688 by acclaimed director Royston Tan which centres on a parking attendant named Fei Fei who dreams of a musical career, Singapore GaGa by award-winning filmmaker Tan Pin Pin that features vignettes of Singapore life as well as its everyday sounds and sights, and Singapore Minstrel by Ng Xi Jie, that takes viewers into the mind of Singapore’s wildest busker, Roy Payamal.
The free screenings will be held at 7.30pm on August 20; and 5pm and 7.30pm on August 22 at the Flower Field Hall, Gardens by the Bay. All films are rated PG and admission is free, by registration.
