If you haven’t already seen Eric Khoo’s debut feature, now’s the time. The film tells the story of the doomed romance between a lonely mee pok seller and a prostitute – it’s certainly not family-friendly viewing. And 20 years after it first appeared in cinemas, the now-classic local flick is returning to the big screen, with a Q&A with Khoo himself (only on April 8) after the screening.
The Projector is also hosting a special talk (April 17) on how Mee Pok Man was restored, and its legacy and impact over the years. Entry to the talks are by donation only.
