Based on the novel by David Ebershoff, The Danish Girl tells the story of Lili Elbe (played by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne) and her journey as one of the first recipients of sex reassignment surgery. The love story also follows her relationship with and marriage to Gerda Wegener. The movie opens in cinemas islandwide on January 7 and is rated R21 for mature themes.
