This bar has closed down.
Nestled in a row of shophouses off Tanjong Pagar Road, this no-frills pub used to go under the moniker Shamus O’Donnell’s. Mixing it up a tad, new owners Aidan and Andrew have carried on some traditions (affordable booze) while adding their own (Guitar Hero, anyone)? What the pub lacks in aesthetics, the well-stocked bar makes up for; true to form, Guinness is on tap. For the more daring, the politically incorrect Irish Car Bomb ($20) will get your pistons pumping. Free of the pretensions of other bars in the ’hood, at O’Bama’s you can park your carcass and have a good chinwag, while chowing down on a Guinness-brewed Irish stew.
