Alright, all you Bantha poodus and nerf herders. It’s International Star Wars Day this Monday, and whether you fight for the Rebel Alliance or the Empire, you should make the jump to hyperspace and land in Suntec City’s East Wing Atrium this weekend. The mall is hosting a Star Wars event, Celebrate the Force, with activities and performances that will awaken the Force in you.
Here’s what you can expect:
Meet Stormtroopers and bounty hunters
Members of the 501st and Rebel Legion will dress up as Stormtroopers, Jedi Knights, Sith Lords and other characters from the franchise.
Witness lightsabre duels
The FightSaber crew will stage an epic duel between the Light and Dark Sides. And they’ll train kids in the art of twirling and spinning those elegant weapons, too.
Pilot an X-wing
Not a real one, though. You’ll get to try your hand at several X-wing game demonstrations and, if you’re good enough, win prizes while you’re at it. But don’t get cocky, kid.
Buy art
Sketch artist Jashorn Lee and the Band of Doodlers will create Star Wars-themed art, which you can bring home by making donations to the Make a Wish Foundation Singapore.
Grab Star Wars swag
Not only will the latest Star Wars merch be available, you’ll get to check out fans’ collectibles and grab your favourite item – if you’ve got the money with you. All proceeds will be donated to the above-mentioned charity.
Celebrate the Force is at Suntec City, East Wing Atrium on May 2 & 3. Sat 11am-9pm; Sun 11am-7pm.
