Four ways to live like a superhero

With the premiere of highly anticipated superhero flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice quickly approaching, it’s only natural that battle lines are drawn between team Dark Knight and team Man of Steel. Put the debate aside and don your cape (and maybe some tights), because here’s the chance to become your own defender of justice.

1) Show off your super moves

Put those super senses to the test at the motion-controlled interactive game zone happening at Funan DigitalLife Mall and Bugis+ from today until March 20 and April 3, respectively. Select your ultimate weapon of choice by choosing between hurling Batman’s batarang to defeat your nemesis or inheriting Superman’s heat vision to blast through tough obstacles.

2) Hang out with the super squad

Snap away and pose with life-size Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman figurines, fully geared in battle armour, that are on display at Funan DigitalLife Mall (until Mar 20) and Bugis+ (until Apr 3), as the malls are turned into arenas for a triple threat titan face off. Also don’t miss meeting the replica of the newest Batmobile at Clarke Quay. The iconic vehicle will then be making a pit stop at Westgate from March 22 to April 7.

3) Recharge with a plate of superfoods

Doesn’t matter if you’re human like Bruce Wayne or an extraterrestrial being like Clark Kent, every superhero is bound to get hungry after saving the city and protecting the innocent. Tuck into DC Comics Super Heroes café and choose from its menu of uniquely themed entrees, pastas, quesadillas and desserts. Order a side of Batty-Batty Meltdown ($7.90), which are fries covered in melted cheese, and complete the meal with a cup of Wonder Woman’s Cool Earth-Mother mocha ($9.90).

For a quick refuel, try The Butchers Club’s signature beef burger, packed with maple-glazed bacon, cheese, tomato and pickles. Throughout the month of March the burger will be given a special superhero makeover – take your pick between the S Burger with its combination of chilli mayo sauce finished with bright blue and red buns, or B Burger’s charcoaled burger buns spread with truffle mayo sauce ($20 each).

4) Party like a rockstar superhero

At the end of the day, being a full-time superhero can be pretty tiring. Loosen the cape and glide over to the coolest bars and clubs for some R&R.

Vietnamese restaurant, Little Saigon, will be serving their Clark Cocktail ($10), a mix of vodka, grenadine, soda and blue curacao and the Arkem Asylum ($10), a concoction made out of crème de cassis, ginger ale and vodka.

At Tomo Izakaya, choose between the rum-based Red Steel cocktail and vodka-based Dark Night cocktail from their one-for-one special cocktail menu ($18).

But don’t ditch the superhero uniform too soon. F.Club (on Mar 18) and Maziga will be opening their doors to those dressed up as their favourite heroes. Enjoy a complimentary drink and get a chance to win attractive prizes if you arrive in the best costume.

Most promotions are until March 20, unless otherwise stated.
