After moving from Ann Siang to Frankel, Bird Bird is flying the coop once more – this time, without any plans to return. Chef Bjorn Shen announced the closure of the fried chicken joint on social media alluding to the fact that seven in 10 restaurants and cafés in Singapore don't make it past the first couple of years. "We played. We lost. But I'm glad we tried nonetheless," states Shen.
The restaurant's last official day of service is on November 26th and it's throwing a series of parties from the 24th to the 26th where you can get all your favourite dishes at $39. There's all-you-can-eat fried chicken, a never-ending fountain of gravy and mountains of curly fries. Reservations are required and available seats can be viewed on Bird Bird's Facebook page.
We're sure this isn't the last we'll see of Shen, and like the Phoenix, we hope to see Bird Bird rise up bigger, better and bolder than before. 'Til then we'll be getting our fill of his signature 'Dude Food' at Artichoke.</>
