Just like the restaurant's name, the dining experience at Wine and Chef is simple and unpretentious. The wines make up the heart of the restaurant, which also stocks the largest collection of Italian vino from boutique family-owned wineries. There are over 250 exclusive wines on the menu including Cavalier Bartolomeo Altenasso Barolo DOCG ($59) and Tenuta Uccellina Rambela Bianca Ravenna IGT Famoso ($32), while housepour wines start from $6 per glass and $25 per bottle.
While wines are the main focus, don't miss some of the innovative Mod-Sin dishes created by chef Wilson Ang who's cooked in restaurants like DB Bistro and Spruce. Kick off your meal with homemade tofu and century egg ($6), and steamed black mussels ($18) cooked in chicken broth and Chinese rice wine. For heartier dishes, try the salmon confit 'risotto' ($18) that uses barley instead of arborio rice.
