The Pass is modern and woody, with warm yellow spotlights casting a chilled-out mood to the banquettes in the narrow and deep room. The alfresco seating’s a good perch for people-watching a Friday and Saturday night away with a Stella ($8/half, $12/ pint), glass of wine ($10.50-$13.50) or a bottle shared with a pal ($45-$48.80 for a Provençe, Burgundy or Bordeaux). Better yet, get free flow Vermentino, Merlot or Rosé daily ($55). The set lunch ($23) includes a choice of salad – beetroot with chicken fillet and white Balsamic vinaigrette or roasted pumpkin with arugula, feta cheese and spinach – plus dessert and a drink. Meanwhile, a small kitchen at the back assembles three platters – cold cut ($28), cheese ($28) and foie gras ($35) – and tapenade trios ($18).
