Event bartending company, Mixes from Mars have set up this pop-up bar in the lobby of The Duxton Hotel. Chief mix master Louis Tan (formerly of Haji Lane’s Bar Stories) takes trendy inspiration from local cuisine for big-on-flavour drinks that notably include a chilli crab cocktail ($22), combining the aromatic elements of the dish with a crab paste, almond-strong orgeat, Malibu and Tanqueray London Dry. Other Singaporean-inspired tipples on offer adulterate kopitiam favourites like Ribena ($20) and Milo ($20) for a more adult spin on the classics, with the latter giving a more regular cocktail a good run for its vanilla ice-cream, milk, and butterscotch schnapps add-ins. Yum, yum, yum!
