Its restaurant, bar, gym and workspace are for members only, but thankfully, the cocktail and tapas bar on the first level is open to plebs like us. Mark Graham Thomas, formerly from B Bar at Bacchanalia, leads the cocktail programme here. He offers novel mixes ($18-$28) like the Inomini Patri ($24), with bourbon, sherry and blue cheese, and the Daiquiri Salato ($26): Jamón- and bacon-infused rum that’s tempered with balsamic vinegar, pineapple and rosemary. There are also craft and premium spirits ($16-$60/glass, $180-$750/bottle). For snacking, the kitchen turns out a large menu, including sea urchin au gratin ($20), mini beef burgers ($17) and ribeye steaks ($23). Club 39’s also open during breakfast and brunch hours, whipping up plates like truffled eggs with Jamón Ibérico ($22), lobster rolls ($40) and fresh fruit with Greek yoghurt ($12.50).
