Next to the Botany Centre lies the Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Museum that was built in 1921. The space served as the director of the gardens’ office and laboratory and it is under these roofs that he pioneered orchid breeding techniques revolutionising the efficient production of healthy seedlings – methods that are still used today.
Now, since its opening in November 2013, the museum offers interactive displays that allow visitors to delve into the rich history and heritage of the garden, spanning over 150 years. Embark on a chronological journey through the garden's significant milestones and enhance your knowledge through captivating installations and interactive exhibits.
You’ll also be able to find the CDL Green Gallery showcasing botanical and related exhibitions that rotate every six to nine months. This environmentally conscious structure incorporates solar panel roofs and energy-efficient interior fittings, promoting sustainability.
