The Waste Refinery

What to do with all this waste? By some estimates, we generate more than 2 billion tons of everyday trash every – not even counting agricultural and industrial waste. With global waste set to increase by 70% over the next 30 years, we'll soon be swimming in our own discard. The Waste Refinery, a new exhibition running till Nov 16 at the National Design Centre, reimagines waste as an abundant resource. See it transformed into next-generation building materials, extended-wear clothing, statement homeware and more that is beautiful, functional, and worthy.
