The skin becomes an exhibition space with German artist Marc Brandenburg’s temporary tattoos, influenced by Berlin’s punk scene of the late ’70s. Trash bags, discarded foil wrappers, clowns, pigeons, public demonstrators and the homeless are transformed into negative stills that appear almost decomposed – a proud display of Brandenburg’s protest against violence and racism. His bold pencil work has placed him in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, among other private collections globally.
