Hold your breath and count the seconds: a life-sized, 12-metre-high
manual clock demonstrates time as a construct in artist Mark Formanek’s installation, which debuted in Berlin back in 2007. Over 4 hours, ten ‘workers’ are given a minute to alter the digits – made from wooden poles – in real time. It’s an ironic statement in every sense: using time to construct, well, time.
