Documentary photographer Irene Barlian captures striking images of the escalating flooding crisis in Java, Indonesia in Rise: A Land of the Sea Project. Since 2019, the Jakarta-based photographer has been engaging with affected villages in Pekalongan and Cirebon. Through her stark, incisive lens, she lays bare the devastation to communities and livelihoods caused by climate change and infrastructural failings. Visit the exhibition at Objectifs – Centre for Photography & Film from March 31 to May 7.
