All the way from Bhutan, artist Galek Yangzom debuts her first Singapore show at Y Art Project showcasing two paintings. Inspired by Bhutan’s architecture and nature, the exhibition will showcase paintings that are infused with Bhutanese motifs, designs, and patterns, inspired by the country’s nature. In Bhutanese culture, an everyday sight like a pigeon's eyes or a tiny fly's wings are often translated into elements that are then woven into patterns to be used in the country’s textiles and architecture. Her artwork in this exhibition will explore the spirit of these patterns outside of these contexts.
