Compressed cardboard and steel rods – these are the two main materials used in Brisbane- and Manila-based artists Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan’s latest exhibition Of Fragments and Impressions at STPI. The duo, whose work often explores on the topic of ‘home’ and ‘identity’ by using their personal experience as immigrants living in Australia, has transformed their past interactive installations into permanent material works. In Fragments after In-Habit, flatten cardboards from former exhibitions are rehashed into a series of collagraphs. Guided tours are held every Thursdays and Saturdays at 11.30am and 2pm respectively.
