Singapore’s urban landscape evolves constantly, but local artist Melissa Tan’s here to capture it in If you can dream a better world you can make a better world or perhaps travel between them. It’s a mouthful of a title, but that’s her intention in chronicling the imprints left on pavements, paths, walkways and roads – and turning them into a poetic sculpture of sorts, finished with three music boxes. The result’s a series of hand- and laser-cut paper and metal sculptures such as this one, each a reflection of the wear and tear of our built and natural environments.
