The red poppy is a symbol of remembrance and is worn in some countries to commemorate the brave souls who died in battle. Known for reimagining flowers with paper and for having an eye for detail, local artist Pei Li blows up the poppies in a larger-than-life art installation. No petal is the same – each is carefully hand-painted complete with intricate details. Come and admire these poppies as you reflect on the courage and resilience of those who interned in Changi Gaol during the Japanese Occupation in Singapore. If you'd like to create your very own, head to the final stop of the exhibition where you can put together a felt poppy. Make it extra special by penning down a meaningful message, attaching it to the poppy and planting it on the green wall at the Chapel.
