Time Out says

I.F. Gallery is an independent art gallery located within a cosy Tanjong Pagar shophouse. Having quietly opened its doors in mid-2024, this modest but inviting space is still very much lesser-known, but no less deserving of recognition. Focusing mainly on Japanese contemporary art, it curates easy-to-digest collections of works according to various themes, and aims to help propel undeerrated artists to the forefront for the exposure they truly deserve.

One exhibition here that we've enjoyed here recently is Cats in a Floating World, a whimsical display of cat-themed art by 14 artists from Japan.

Entry to I.F. Gallery is free, and if you're wondering what its name stands for, that would be "inception" and "foresight". Find out more via its Instagram page and website.

What’s on

Wisps in the Enchanted Garden

If cute storybook-like animal paintings are something that you can appreciate, be sure to visit Wisps in the Enchanted Garden – the first solo art exhibition by Tokyo painter Saito Sho that’s being held outside of Japan. In special preparation of this showcase, the artist himself travelled to Singapore on a maiden visit and used his experiences as inspiration for his newest artworks – think pandas swimming in Marina Bay Sands’ infinity pool, the Merlion lounging on a beach, and familiar local motifs like the durian. Catch this whimsical showcase at I.F. Gallery till the end of May. Find out more here.
