1. Pick up the guide
Grab the Art Week booklet, with all the shows, tours and whatnots on offer. Visit www.artweek.sg, and follow facebook.com/SGArtWeek and instagram.com/SGArtWeek to stay up to date.
2. Plan an itinerary
Art Week happens in six areas of the city: Civic District & Marina Bay; Bras Basah & Bugis; Gillman Barracks; Orchard Road & Dempsey Hill; Chinatown & Artspace@Helutrans; and Kampong Glam. So nail down your schedule early – and leave a full day each for the former two.

3. Keep the noise down
While some events have a fun fair-like atmosphere (and that’s cool if you wanna run around), galleries and museums aren’t playgrounds.
4. Don’t ignore the local artists.
Yes, Singapore suffers from a bit of cultural cringe. But, really, the best ones are up there with the world class.

5. Save energy for the night
Super 0 Openair is a mash of music, design, mixology and even a record shop, that goes on until the wee hours; Art after Dark transforms Gillman Barracks into a carnival of performances and food; and you can groove out to the sounds of Pushin’On and other DJs at the Aliwal Urban Art Festival.
Been there, done that? Think again, my friend.
