Arts in Your Neighbourhood (AYN) is returning from November 12 to 29. This time, the spotlight shines on the culturally-rich Geylang Serai – not to be mistaken for the infamous red-light district. This edition, AYN's line-up will be supplemented with digital offerings for the very first time. There's a mix of 11 digital and physical programmes co-created with artists, art organisations and community partners: from online music, dance and theatre performances to visual art murals and a dynamic light projection display on the façade of Old Airport Road Hawker Centre.

Hunt for colourful art murals in the back alleys of the Geylang neighbourhood when you embark on a self-guided trail as part of 'Brilliant Corners: The City Is Blooming by System Sovereign'. The works are co-painted by five artists: Ink & Clog, Didier Jaba Mathieu, Oak & Bindi and Kiat.
Another highlight is an epic light projection and sound display that illuminates the facade of the famous Old Airport Road Hawker Centre every day from 8pm to 9.30pm. Dreamt up by local audiovisual collective SYNDICATE, the light projection features works by Cherry Chan, Heider Ismail, Safuan Johari, and William Chan, co-created with hawkers and residents of Kallang and inspired by the patterns and motifs of daily Singaporean life.

Get the little ones cultured with Let's Partea!, a series of virtual performances specially curated for young audiences and hosted live by dynamic theatre actor Dwayne Lau every Sunday of AYN; or take a virtual "walk" along the Kallang River in an interactive choose-your-own-adventure story by digital storytelling studio Tusitala and author Akshita Nanda.
Admission is free for all events – but don't forget to follow existing safe distancing measures when attending outdoor programmes. For more info, visit artsforall.gov.sg/initiatives/arts-in-your-neighbourhood.
