Three theaters around Seoul (Sejong Center for the Performing Arts M Theater, CJ Azit Theater, Ellim Hall Theater) will ‘bombarded’ with dramatic storytelling and theatrical performances. Hosted by the Seoul Theater Association, ST-BOMB is an exchange project aimed at helping smaller theater production companies gain more international acclaim. 4 international groups (China, US, Japan, Romania) and 2 Korean groups (both of which have performed abroad in 2016) will take part, each offering a new perspective in storytelling techniques. For example, Burq Off! is a one woman autobiographical play that shows the struggle of one British Pakistani woman evolving past traditional and religious constraints. It would be interesting to see how she manages to embody 21 different characters. Check their website (www.st-bomb.com) for more information on plays, venues and ticketing.
