Marked as Itaewon’s representative American pie shop, Tartine is a creation by American patisserie Garrett Edwards. The shop has roots in Mrs. Edwards, the owner’s mother, who is actually the lady illustrated on the official Tartine logo. The silver-haired Edwards decorated the place with century-old vintage ornaments, for the look and feel of an old country home. Tartine's display window is filled with its sweet and moist pies that come in raspberry, blueberry, cherry, pecan, fig, and rhubarb. Although the a la mode-style pies, served either with whipped cream or ice cream, are quite popular, the pecan pie is the showstopper here. While the original Tartine, with its long lines, used to be exclusively for the dessert-determined, a second location opened right across the first to lighten the load.
