Chillaxing on sunbeds at a hotel pool, chitchatting with your besties while sipping on cocktails with the warm breeze of summer. Sounds like a small luxury for all of us who can’t just whip out a suitcase and walk out the office door for a vacation dream of. Beach tables and ultra fluffy sunbeds are just a little extra, but to be more elaborate, what if they are all in pink?
Pink Hotel is a hotel-themed “everything pink” flagship store opened by Korea’s popular online shopping fashion brand, Stylenanda. Just like any other hotel, Pink Hotel’s first floor is the hotel lobby. Each floor is decorated with different concepts such as spa, rooms, laundry, and pool, and based on the concept of the floor, it displays a wide variety of Stylenanda made cosmetics, women's clothing, swimwear and miscellaneous goods. “Pool” is located on the top floor and is surrounded by palm trees so when the natural light hits between the palm tree leaves, it creates the illusion that you’re in a foreign country. At Pink Hotel where everything is pink, Pink Pool Cafe’s bean bag-like sunbeds, beach tables, and even the floor is painted bright pink. Sunbeds are washed once every two weeks, and when it rains, they are all moved back inside to keep them clean.
Even though Pink Hotel is located right in the hectic Myeongdong area, when you are on the top floor, the noise of the streets sound so far away. Visit at dusk to watch the beautiful sunset and enjoy the dreamy atmosphere when the lights go on at night. Keep in mind you must order 1 drink per person, but I don’t recommend the cafe’s so-called signature menu: cotton candy ice cream and cotton candy coffee. The cotton candy stick keeps falling causing some trouble to eat and tastewise, there is no distinct flavor to it.
