The Asian bakery is a genre in its own right, and Kyo Bakery takes this heritage to the next level with an inventive streak that makes it unique in Seoul. In addition to the standard soft red bean buns, fluffy cream cakes, and sweet crusty buns, they also sell squid ink and condensed milk baguettes, wheatgrass melon buns and pollock roe rolls. We have a soft spot for the tiger bread, a cheese-filled rice flour roll named for its crackly top. Gluten-free diners will appreciate their sesame-encrusted rice loaf (great for sandwiches, especially when toasted).
